I have just put the last stitch into my Bird of Paradise Quilt top for the Port Moresby Quilt group's workshop on the 3rd and 4th April.
The quilt combines machine applique, half square triangle techniques, Japanese folded fabric flowers and it's all set in a medallion design... I'm aiming for something for everyone and all levels of quilting expertise from the raw beginner to the advanced expert who wants to try something new.
The workshop is going to be very different for me and I'm really looking forward to. Hopefully everyone will like the quilt, enjoy the two days, have fun and create something to remind them of the unique place they live in.
Let me know your impressions of the quilt so far. I always feel a bit uncomfortable showing unfinished works, when they really don't come into their own until they've been quilted, embellished and bound.
Stunning!! I love it.
